Bruschetta with cream cheese and roasted peppers

Earlier I shared with you a recipe for roasted peppers https://takajaeda.com/en/recipes-en/roasted-peppers/. And one of the applications of these peppers – cooking delicious appetizers of bruschetta with with cream cheese.

Ingredients:

  • Roasted pepper (or for its preparation you will need: fresh bell pepper 1 kg, garlic 2 cloves, sugar 0.5 tsp, peppercorns 3 pcs, smoked paprika 0.5 tsp, salt 8 gr.)
  • Ciabatta (or French baguette)
  • Whipped cream cheese (Almette type)
  • Ground black pepper

Cooking process

1 If you have already managed to cook roasted peppers according to this recipe https://takajaeda.com/en/recipes-en/roasted-peppers/, then you can immediately proceed to the next stage of making our bruschetta. If you don’t have roasted peppers, you will need to cook them.

Put the peppers on a baking sheet covered with foil. Bake them in an oven preheated to 200C (395 F) degrees for 40 minutes.

Transfer the baked peppers into a deep dish and cover it with a lid or cling film. Leave them to stand for 15 minutes. We do this in order to make it easier to remove the skin from them.

Peel the peppers from the skins and seeds. Cut them into long strips.

Peel the garlic and cut into slices. Put it in a preheated pan with vegetable oil and fry for a few minutes. Add chopped peppers to the garlic. Mix. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add salt, sugar, smoked paprika and peppercorns to the pan. Stir, bring to a boil and turn off the gas. Cool it down.

2 Cut the ciabatta into 1-1.5 cm thick slices. Toast the bread in a dry pan or grill or toaster. The ciabatta should be crispy on the outside but soft on the inside.

3 Spread cream cheese on a piece of ciabatta. Put the roasted pepper on top. Sprinkle the bruschetta on top with freshly ground black pepper.
