Cod liver salad

Today I want to share a recipe for an original salad, which is very simple and quick to prepare. This cod liver salad can be categorized as “when guests are on the doorstep.” Lovers of cod liver will definitely appreciate it.

Ingredients (for 2 servings):

  • Cod liver – 50 gr.
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Capers (or olives) – 1 tbsp
  • Dill – to taste
  • Lemon zest – 0.5 tsp
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • Iceberg lettuce (or other lettuce)
  • Black pepper – to taste

Cooking process

Boil the eggs, cool, peel and cut into cubes.

Wash the dill, dry it and chop finely.

Leave the capers whole. If you are using olives, then cut them into small pieces.

Just break the cod liver into small pieces with a fork. It is very important to choose a good cod liver. It shouldn’t taste bitter.

Gently mix all prepared ingredients with each other. Fill the salad with a spoonful of oil in which the cod liver was lying. Add lemon juice. Sprinkle the salad with freshly ground black pepper on top. If the cod liver is not salted enough, then you can additionally salt the salad.

A quick and delicious salad with cod liver is ready. You can serve salad to the table in low wide glasses or on the leaves of green lettuce. By the way, it is especially tasty to eat such an appetizer wrapped in a sheet of crispy Iceberg lettuce.
